Or, web site any suggestion on how to fix this issue, even better. I do NOT have this issue with the other laptop, an iPad, a MacBook Pro and tablet. So figuring that was the same issue here, I did the same thing.
Work Account Stuck in Sign in Loop (Office 365, Teams, Outlook)
On the off chance that none of these things solve this issue for you, please contact our support team at Close and open your web browser again and go into SuiteFiles. You will most likely need to enter your Microsoft 365 credentials again so ensure you tick any box that says remember my credentials but it should now work for all future documents you open and not require your credentials. When I log in to my account at first from a new device or after a while, it stays signed in and I can work work offline mode stuck peacefully for about an hour, then it automatically signs me out.
Your account is at risk, infinite loop
On the main machine where I have been using the suite, now my account is deactivated and if I try to authenticate, it looks like it works but then get the “Fix”, “Authenticate”, “Activate” or “Resolve” buttons, all of which do nothing. I checked my MS account info page, subscription is fine. I had this exact issue on another machine, that after 2.5 hours on the phone with MS support (via Zoom), the solution was to uninstall MS Office 365 and reinstall it.
For affected versions of Outlook
Native IOS and Android Mail apps will require the APP password or users can use Outlook for IOS/Android which is Modern Auth aware. FYI outlook 2013 requires a registry setting to work with MA. I created a new Outlook profile, and then the old one started working. I wonder if the compuer cached a new logon token or something that the old Outlook profile could use.

Outlook 365 Password Prompt Issue on Windows Desktop
You may have to rebuild/restore your outlook folder/files which is a pain. I’d do that one step at a time, forgoing the restore of the cached files. If this box is greyed out or disabled then you need to reset the Windows Credential Manager first. When I try to sign again it will be stuck in sign in loop with the message ” Taking you to your organization sign in page” after I have logged in on my company site…
Fix constant sign-in prompt for Microsoft
- Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly.
- Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
- Close and open your web browser again and go into SuiteFiles.
- In the instances that this occurs the effected user is not new to MFA but has been running it for at least months.
- When I log in to my account at first from a new device or after a while, it stays signed in and I can work peacefully for about an hour, then it automatically signs me out.
- This issue can occur if the Logon network security setting on the Security tab of the Microsoft Exchange dialog box is set to a value other than Anonymous Authentication.
In each case the fix has either been one of the above items or a combination of them. There doesn’t appear to be any pattern to the issue occurring or the problem being limited to any specific Troubleshoot Office 365 Sync and Login Issues computer or user. By chatting and providing personal info, you understand and agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. I disabled the Zoom and Adobe PDF plugins and it stopped prompting me immediately. My client’s Outlook will only continuously ask for the password after MFA is enforced and Office.com has been logged in. It would be nice if it distinguished between your password and the app password.
We’ve got a support case opened with Microsoft on this one but it’s been open for about 3 months. Unfortunately when the problem occurs they’ve asked us to ring straight away but of course you can never get them instantly (we’ve just been given someone’s direct number now). To make a long story short we’ve since been asked to collect Outlook logs and install Fiddler to capture additional logging. This is now the 2nd machine that presents the same issue. I have a valid MS 365 subscription that includes 5 device licenses.
